Common forms of Performance Monitoring include:
- Annual tests on Firewater Pumps for maintenance deferral and to prove performance to HSE.
- Carry out tests on Main Oil Line (MOL) Pumps and Sea Water Lift Pumps to prove performance and for maintenance deferral.
- Carry out tests on Water Injection Pumps to prove performance and maximize injection flow rates. This testing is also particularly useful to highlight wasted energy in driving low efficiency machines.
Fire Pump Performance Testing
The results of performance tests are compared against the workshop tests / design curves for the cartridges to establish pump wear. The data is also presented to show the ‘actual’ fire fighting capability of each pump which is compared to the safety case requirements.
Additional data can also be collected to check for system leakage in the fire ring main system.
