Electrical Testing

The Rogowski Coil is a transducer used for measurement of the high frequency current pulses generated by partial discharge activity in the stator insulation structure. The discharge pattern is recorded and fed into specialist computer software to analyse the results.
 

Partial discharge causes progressive deterioration of insulating materials and will lead to electrical breakdown or even total failure if not treated.

Phase Current Analysis can be used to determine if there are any cracked rotor bars or broken end rings in squirrel-cage induction motors. This often occurs during startup due to excessive heating and vibration as a result of much higher current than under normal load conditions.
